The Portland Chapter of Les Dames D’Escoffier presents their first skill-share fundraiser of 2026.
Join Dame Diane Morgan, James Beard award-winning author of more than 18 cookbooks, as she presents a 2-hour class distilling the finer points of recipe writing and all the nitty-gritty details that make recipe writing a technical craft to master.
You will watch a reasonably simple recipe be made with lots of prompts and details for note taking. Then, each participant will be writing up the recipe they just observed as an exercise!
From there, we will have a group discussion led by Diane on all the details that would go into writing this recipe. Consider this class a lesson in recipe development and execution—from kitchen to laptop!
Please bring a laptop, iPad, pen and paper, or whatever you need to be ready to make notes and write up a recipe that has been demonstrated. There will be great handouts for all attending.
